Located partially in Tarrant County and partially in Denton County, Haslet, TX is a town located within the Dallas-Fort-Worth Metroplex. It’s located directly north of Fort Worth, and northeast of Dallas, and has a population of 1,517, according to the most recently available census data. It was first settled in 1880, and grew to a population of 67 by 1903. The city was not officially incorporated until 1961, when it was legally incorporated as the “City of Haslet.” Its total area is 8.2 square miles. Today, the primary industry in Haslet is intermodal freight transport. The area is a major hub for freight, since it’s near the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, as well as a BNSF Railway Intermodal Facility and Alliance Airport. Schooling is administered by the Northwest Independent School District, an award-winning school system that serves more than 19,000 students across 27 distinct educational campuses. The town is known for its rural, rustic character, a low crime rate, and a variety of unique yearly events including Haslet Hustle 5K “Fun Run,” The Halloween Haunted Hay Ride, and the Haslet Wild West Fest & Rodeo.
