Westlake’s Landscape Management at Its Best

In NE Tarrant county and in a small section of Denton County, lies beautiful little Westlake. Boasting a rural atmosphere but the convenience of the DFW Metroplex, Westlake is only 12 miles west of DFW International Airport and seven miles east of the Fort Worth Alliance Airport. Originally settled in 1847 by 21 families and incorporated in 1950, the population in 2018 was estimated to be only 1,383. But tiny Westlake is growing, with several planned mixed-use developments in the works. One of these is Entrada, a development with the regional architecture of the Catalonia region in NE Spain. Entrada will offer a variety of amenities such as office and retail spaces, hotels, restaurants, entertainment, lakes, canals, a chapel, reception hall, and over 300 residential units. The homes will be in the form of villas, townhomes, and condos. There are other mixed-use developments underway as well, plus a large Charles Schwab Corporate Campus. Yet for all its development, the planners remain committed to doing it right. After all, this is a town that has won not only a prestigious Gold Level Certificate as a Texas Certified Scenic City but has won awards from the ICMA (International City/County Management Association) in 2013, Excellence in Economic Development in 2017, and many others. Westlake is up to the challenge.
