Ranked as one of the best Dallas suberbs according to d magazine
The city of Hurst came by its name in a rather colorful way. Back in 1903, the railroad wanted to lay track connecting Dallas and Fort Worth across some private land belonging to William Letchworth Hurst, better known as Uncle Billy. Uncle Billy agreed to allow the track to be laid on two conditions: that a stop would be established there and that a depot would be built – bearing his name, of course. The agreement was made and that same year, the Rock Island Station was built there. But the depot and the little community that sprung up around it soon after wasn’t officially given the name, Hurst, until 1909. Finally, on September 25, 1952, Hurst was incorporated. Its population at the time was 2,700. Today, Hurst occupies 9.92 square miles and as of 2013, the population stood at around 38,445. Nowadays, Hurst connects people to the surrounding areas via the Hurst/Bell Station, jointly owned by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit and the Trinity Railway Express. The city’s North East Mall was ranked as the number one shopping mall in Tarrant County and is the third-largest mall in the state of Texas. Not in the mood for shopping? No worries, the Hurst Recreation Center has you covered. Step up your tennis game – or learn to play – on one of the city’s 10 lighted outdoor courts, or pack up the kids and go fishing at Chisholm Park’s Neighborhood Fishin’ Pond. Too hot? Cool off in one of the pools at the Chisholm Aquatic Center! The Center provides a tot pool, lazy river, activity pool, and slide towers. There’s even a snack bar. Or, make a day of it by renting one of the pavilions and bringing your own picnic. Hurst makes it easy to stay active and have a good time!
But don't just take our word for it. Here's what one of our satisfied customers has to say:
"Best in Southlake!! An honest and hardworking company that handles everything year round. Can’t say enough good things about them!!"
